I'd argue that /etc/rpm/sysinfo/* content is not rpm configuration
related because:
Macros are not used, and there is no direct means to %define a
macro within
the content store.
However, part of the reason for attempting to get a predictable
__DIRECTORY__
structure for RPM store is to attach other useful information like /
etc/rpm/sysinfo
and specspo and pubkeys and .file triggers and ... for use by rpm.
A more predictable store hierarchy will only make it easier to get
beyond macros
and rpmppot configuration to more interesting usage cases like /etc/
rpm/sysinfo imho.
